We have fed 1192 Adults and Children in 2012-13 - an increase of 50% over the previous year. Since Jan 1st this year we have seen a 98% increase over the same period last year. We are also seeing an increase in the numbers of those coming to us because of debt or low income related issues.
We anticipate this demand increasing over the coming months post the April 1st welfare benefit changes. We are already seeing an increase in numbers coming from Job Centre Plus. Previously some of these would have been helped by DWP with crisis loans.
